Dear Reader,
This RFC collection was originally intended to be as complete as an RFC
archive can be - it should contain every RFC ever written. Unfortunately
I could not get ANY RFC that was not on the regular sites - it simply
seems noone archived them at all. This is pretty astonishing.
For the regular look at RFCs, searching and stuff, this archive should
be sufficient, however.
For those, who never heard about RFCs I will try a short explanation:
RFC ist a short term for "Request For Comments". RFCs are drafts for all
kinds of internet conventions and protocols, for example the well known
protocols like WWW, Mail (smtp), News (nntp), FTP and many others have been
developed on the basis of RFCs. Some RFCs have become a kind of quasi-standard,
others never left the stage of a good proposal. Some RFCs are not even meant
serious (you can have a good laugh).
Nevertheless is a collection of RFCs surely one of the basic tools a programmer
should have at his hand for developing any kind of network-related software.
Have fun,
Your Meeting Pearls Team
